Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Stepping Stone of San Diego.  We have a variety of volunteer opportunities for which you may qualify.  We invite you to review the complete description of the volunteer position for which you'd like to apply.

Stepping Stone of San Diego, Inc. thanks you for your interest in volunteering to help us provide life-saving and life-affirming services to our clients directly or through administrative and other functions.  We value you, your skills and experience and your willingness to be of service.  In employment, volunteering and providing services to our clients, we do not discriminate on any basis at anytime.

The next step is to complete and submit our brief online application.  After receiving your application, we will contact you with additional information about the program and orientation. 

Volunteers are required to have a background check and a TB test. 

To maintain the highest levels of service to our clients and the community, Stepping Stone of San Diego, Inc. requires volunteers to participate in a fingerprint background check.  This screening is done to protect our clients.  We realize that people who suffer from addiction and are active in their recovery may have negative information that may appear in background checks.  Background checks will be reviewed with each applicant and negative information that may be received is not an automatic refusal of your application.

The Live Scan fingerprint service is located at:

Go to Cashier’s Office on 3rd floor of administration building

to pay the $10.00 fee.  Take receipt to the Police Trailer

designated as “EOC” trailer to have fingerprints scanned.

TB Testing Information

To get your TB test at the Rosecrans Health Services Complex you

must get tested on Wednesdays and then return for your results on

Friday of the same week.  You will be given your test results in

writing which must be submitted to Stepping Stone.
