LGBT Pride weekend is legendary in San Diego, and can be a lot of fun for the community and our supporters. For newly-sober alcoholics and addicts, however, it can be a source of worry and fear.
This year – as with many years in the past – Stepping Stone is participating in the parade to provide a safe place for residents and supporters to celebrate the event, and to carry our message of hope to the community at large. The residents have been hard at work on our float, which follows the Pride’s theme of “Liberty and Justice for All.”
Here’s where you can find Stepping Stone:
- Residents, staff and volunteers will be setting up in the staging area beginning at 8 am in Space #198, located at Washington and Polk Streets
- Walk with the float – starting at 11 am – everyone is welcome
- Cheer them on from anywhere along the parade route, and let the residents know how much we support them
- Join the residents who will be gathering at the end of the route (6th and Upas) to welcome the float at the conclusion of the parade
We hope to see all of you around this weekend as we celebrate and support each other!
