Stepping Stone has provided recovery services in San Diego for more than 35 years, and is now proud to announce its partnership with Pemarro Recovery Center in Ramona to expand its services.
The Board of Directors and staff of Pemarro Recovery Center (www.pemarro.com) is pleased to announce the reopening of the facility located at 1482 Kings Villa Road after closing for remodeling and upgrades.
Pemarro Recovery Center (PRC), a nonprofit corporation, was opened in 1984 to provide reasonably priced addiction treatment and recovery services to San Diego County residents. Philanthropist Willis Allen of La Jolla was instrumental in supporting the program in its early years.
The 10-bed facility gained a national reputation as a program that specialized in persons prone to relapse. These clients, the reluctant-to-recover, often had difficulty sustaining their recovery elsewhere but were successful at PRC.
Recently, the facility was placed under the management of Stepping Stone of San Diego an agency with a 36 year history of providing similar services.
Pete Stafford, Chairman of the Board of PRC is enthusiastic about the reopening:
This is an exciting time for this wonderful institution. Many members of the community have begun their recovery at Pemarro Recovery Center. We are pleased to be able to reinvigorate the program and are looking forward to continuing our mission to save lives from the disease of addiction.
The program utilizes a variety of tested approaches to recovery from alcohol and drug problems including 12-step facilitation, cognitive behavioral, group therapy and recovery coaching. An open house for professionals in the area is scheduled for October 14 (11 am to 3 pm) and for all members of the community on Sunday October 16 (11 am to 3 pm). Lunch will be provided on both days.
