Relapse Prevention Counseling (RPC) Certification Training

9 AM – 5 PM Each Day
About This Training:
The Relapse Prevention Counseling (RPC) Certification Training, co-hosted by the Gorski-CENAPS Corporation, is designed to teach skills for the identification and management of high-risk situations that can cause relapse in early recovery before a stable recovery program has been established. This clinical skills training is based upon a standard RPC Treatment Plan for managing high-risk situations using cognitive-behavioral therapy procedures and is fully compatible with sobriety-based treatment and Twelve Step Principles. Each step of the standard treatment plan is explained, demonstrated, and practiced either in group or individual therapy formats with plenty of opportunities for personalized discussion and feedback.
About the Instructor:
Roland F. Williams, Master Addiction Counselor (MAC), Licensed Advanced Addiction Counselor (LAADC), Internationally Certified Advanced Addictions Counselor (ICAADC), Advanced Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist (ACRPS), Nationally Certified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), CEO and Director of Training, Gorski-CENAPS Corporation, works worldwide as a counselor, interventionist, lecturer, trainer, teacher, author and consultant specializing in addiction and mental health related issues. He is an internationally recognized addiction specialist who has developed culturally specific models and materials for relapse prevention, particularly for the African American community. He is an expert in the Gorski Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT) model and applies it with a focus on cultural and individual differences.
Advanced Certification Option:
After attending this training, participants can elect to complete a Competency Certification Portfolio, which must be reviewed and approved by CENAPS for a $150 fee, to become a CRPS – Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist. This certification will allow you to train others in the field on Relapse Prevention. This certification is issued through CENAPS, not Stepping Stone of San Diego. Directions on portfolios and how to apply will be provided at the training.
Note About Fees:
The $350 registration fee covers only our material costs and instructor travel. This training is offered as a community benefit as part of Stepping Stone’s commitment to strengthening the recovery ecosystem in San Diego.
Cancellation & Transfer Policy:
Full refunds available for cancellations received before January 1, 2026. After January 1, registrations are non-refundable but fully transferable—you may transfer your spot to a colleague at no additional cost by notifying us at least 5 days before the training begins.
