The Alumni Association is an important part of Stepping Stone and is made up of alumni, allies and friends. This association is a sub-committee of the Stepping Stone board and works to support the residents of Stepping Stone through mentorship and activities. They also do fundraising throughout the year to support our residents. The association elects it leadership board who work to plan several events a year including the holiday celebration for our residents. They also support residents each month by providing a monthly dinner, movie nights and other activities.
Regular meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at the residential facility multi-purpose room located at 3767 Central Avenue from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.

Stepping Under the Sea The Alumni are hard at work planning our “Stepping Under the Sea” event to be held on June 1, 2019. Last year’s event was a huge success and allowed us to raise much-needed funds to benefit the Resident’s Fund. If you’d like to help plan this year’s event, our next planning meeting will be held on Sunday, March 31st at 4:30 PM at Stepping Stone. Meetings will be held every other Sunday at 4:30 up to the day of the event. If you can’t make the meetings but would like to donate or help out in another way, contact Shawn Christian for more details.

Alumni Dinner and Monthly Meeting Each month, the Alumni cook dinner for the residents and we could always use some extra help with food prep, donations, set up and clean up. Our next Alumni Dinner will be held on April 18th at 4:30. After dinner, stick around for our monthly Alumni Committee meeting at 7:00 in the Conference Room. We’re always excited to see new faces and hear new ideas about how we can best support Stepping Stone’s residents and alumni.

Most positions require 1 year of sobriety, a bank account and a source of income. Resident Liaison and Social Media Director require 6 months of sobriety.
Each month the Alumni brings snacks and a movie to watch with the Stepping Stone residents. Our next Movie Night will be on Monday, April 1st at 7:00 PM. You can bring a snack to share or just come and enjoy the movie!
